Private Eye

Trying out more Unity3D experiments. This was created to experiment with capturing a person’s likeness (Jon’s) and creating a low-poly character for Unity3D.

The character was hand modelled from photo references which normal maps generated from some sculpting in Mudbox as well as photographing Jon’s face with multiple light sources to create a photographic normal map for greater details.

We also tried out Mixamo’s auto-rigger and idle animation from their animation library, which worked¬†surprisingly¬†well! There;s a little bit of pinching happening in the mesh as it deforms but that’s easily fixed.

The Private Investigator character was a good excuse to play about with some particles in Unity too.
